Costa Rica~Pura Vida

At first I would like to thank the Wilson family for giving me the incredible opportunity to go
abroad this summer. It has been something I had always wanted to do in the back of my mind and when this opportunity came up, I felt as if I had come upon a once in a lifetime opportunity, and tit truly was. Costa Rica is such a beautiful and naturalistic place I feel it is most appropriate to document my trip by the pictures I took.

This was at the volcano Poas about an hour north of San Jose on our second day of the trip. The man on the right was our in country guide, Max Vindas, and really did make the trip great. For example on this day we were supposed to go to a museum, but instead he took us here.

From San Jose (the capital of Costa Rica) we went to a project of Sea Turtle conservation with a group named Widecast. They specialized in the conservation of leatherback sea-turtles and we spent tireless hours on the beach at night patrolling and waiting for mother leatherbacks to come ashore and nest so we could relocate their nests to the Widecast hatcheries. However during the day, we got to enjoy some quality times with the locals and our group on the beach

The hatchery, protected by sandbags from high tides.

Playing soccer on the beaches of Cartaga.

From Cartaga we went to Sarahpiqui, a city about three hours souththwest of San Jose. Here we went on a sipline canopy tour of the rainforest there as well as whitewater rafting. This was our group before the zipline tour.
